Discover the rest of the story dedicated to François Vatel, the most fashionable butler during the reign of Louis XIV.

On August 17, 1661, his master Nicolas Fouquet organized a dinner in honor of the king that dazzled the entire Court.

But Louis XIV does not appreciate being eclipsed by the organizer of the event, and asks for his arrest.

François Vatel must then choose between supporting, during the trial, the one who allowed his social ascent, even if it means risking prison... or fleeing abroad to get to safety!

In this new episode of the podcast "At the heart of History" produced by Europe 1 Studio, historian Virginie Girod tells the rest of François Vatel's journey and the end of his life.
