He started the year badly.

On Sunday, at 5:30 a.m., a 19-year-old man from Toulouse was returning home on a rental bicycle with a friend when, exhausted by fatigue and a long night of festivities, he fell on the bonnet of a car while crossing the Arnaud-Bernard district, in the city centre.

According to police sources, there was no damage to the vehicle.

But that did not prevent its owner and two of his accomplices from appearing to demand compensation on the spot.

One of the young people gave his laptop as a repair and the three thieves let it slip away.

The other refused any payment.

The three attackers therefore followed him home, first intimidating him and then beating him.

They ended up taking his phone from him, before neighbors put them to flight.

The trio were caught shortly after by a crime squad crew.

The main aggressor, aged 21 and already known to the police, will soon be summoned before the criminal court to answer for violence and extortion in a meeting.
