A major fire occurred on Sunday morning in Séchilienne (Isère).

The fire broke out in a car and then spread to another vehicle, reports

The flames then reached two houses located nearby.

First on the scene, the gendarmes intervened around 5 a.m.

They rescued a retired couple, who were trapped in their home by the fire.

The husband was then in a medical bed.

Despite the front door in flames, the soldiers did not hesitate to enter the home to come to their aid.

The couple escaped unscathed and were relocated.

The man who lived in the other house affected by the fire remained at home after the intervention of the firefighters.

Significant emergency resources were dispatched to the scene in order to control the fire as quickly as possible and prevent it from spreading to adjoining houses.

At this time, the exact cause of the fire has not yet been determined.

An investigation has been opened by the police.
