Since 1 January 2023, all pensioners can see their new pension on the pension authority's website.

- For those who have income and supplementary pensions, the purchasing power decreases and the premium pension also decreases for most pensioners.

The negative development is mitigated for those pensioners who have a guaranteed pension and a defined benefit occupational pension, says Linda Wiese, analyst at the Swedish Pensions Agency.

The retirement age is raised

In addition to the increased pension, the retirement age is also being raised from 62 to 63 for the earliest time you can draw a general pension.

The retirement age for when you can take out a guaranteed pension, income pension supplement, housing supplement and elderly support is also raised from 65 to 66.

The age for conversion pension and guarantee pension to widow's pension is also raised from 65 to 66 years.

At the same time, sickness benefit and unemployment benefit are extended until the month before one reaches the age of 66, in contrast to the age of 65 that applied previously.

And the right to guaranteed pension for people living abroad ends.
