The judgment was rendered in a few seconds, in a courthouse placed under very high security: six months in prison therefore, for
the two deputies
, who are also condemned to jointly pay 5 million CFA francs in damages to Amy Ndiaye.
The judge, on the other hand, dismissed the reason for “
death threats
”.
As a reminder, the
prosecution had requested two years in prison
.
It is a "
disappointment
" for Me Abdy Nar Ndiaye, one of the lawyers for the deputies, who immediately announced his intention to appeal, and to submit a
request for provisional release
.
The defense also intends to request a "
medical second opinion
" on the pregnancy of Amy Ndiaye, described by the lawyer as "
a decoy
".
"
The law has been said,
" said Me Souleymane Soumaré, one of Amy Ndiaye's lawyers.
But the civil party also plans to appeal on the amount of damages: it had asked for 500 million CFA francs, "
because the health of the mother and the child she is carrying are at stake
", explains Me Soumaré.
For the moment, this sentence has no impact on the mandates of deputies Massata Samb and Mamadou Niang, because it is not final.
