Like every year on January 1, the National Register of Identification and Civil Status of Peru has published the list of the most curious, even the most grotesque first names, with which some parents have given their children.

A short summary of this anthology, starting with football, which once again inspired many Peruvian parents.

With our regional correspondent,

Éric Samson

Honor to the king of sports and his king:

Pelé

is now the first name of nearly 700 little Peruvians, and this in just three days after his disappearance.

We are far from the more than 30,000 Ronaldos and

Cristiano Ronaldos

, but the Portuguese player has had a whole year to inspire.

The World Cup also had its small effect, not so small by the way, with 267

Messi

, 176 Argentina which we hope were reserved for little girls, and Dibu, in honor of the Argentine goalkeeper.

But the Peruvians have not forgotten the France team with 230 Mbappé and even 86 Antoine Griezman.

On the other hand, we are worried about the three babies named Mondial or the one we will now know as Qatar.

Top Gun

also on display

Queen Isabel II has not been forgotten, her name and title will be borne by 550 little girls.

His son, Prince Charles has only inspired five families, but is that really a surprise...

Merlina, first name Spanish version of the

Wednesday Addams

series , is now worn by 250 little girls.

This is less than the 733

Mavericks

but much more than the only Bad Bunny or

Elon Musk

registered by the civil registry.

We can only rejoice for the Peruvian children.
