The liberal doctors are called upon to continue this week the strike movement started the day after Christmas to obtain a revaluation of the consultation, we learned Monday from the collective at the initiative of the mobilization.

"We contacted the minister before Christmas, he replied that he would receive us on January 5 without making any other proposal," the founder of the collective, Christelle Audigier, told AFP.

Consultation fee increase

A request for a meeting with Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne remained unanswered, according to the general practitioner.

"Faced with this ostrich policy, we have chosen to renew our movement until January 8," she added.

After a first movement on December 1 and 2, the collective had called for the closure of doctors' offices from December 26 to January 2.

Health Insurance estimated between 5 and 10% the decline in activity of general practitioners last week, the collective affirming Monday that it was around 70%.

The central demand of the collective remains the increase in the price of the consultation to 50 euros to create a "shock of attractiveness" towards a city medicine crushed by administrative tasks to the detriment of medical time and which no longer attracts young people.

"Doctors for tomorrow" presented its own proposals to fight against medical deserts, advocating "ephemeral practices" in under-resourced areas and incentives for the installation of young practitioners.

A strike criticized by the Minister of Health

The strike during the holidays, when the emergencies were saturated, was criticized by François Braun, while the renegotiation for five years of the agreement linking Health Insurance to liberal doctors is not over.

More understanding, the inter-union of hospital doctors Action Praticiens Hôpital saw in the strike the "tip of the iceberg that is the decay of our health system".
