The wind of protest had become very strong, it was necessary to react quickly, recognizes a senior Chadian official.

Mahamat Idriss Déby

therefore distanced himself from his Minister of Public Security, at the origin of the two angry arrests, and tried to calm the anger that had even

won over the CNT a few days ago.

The Head of State asked his government "

to correct the situation, in the face of the

legitimate

discontent

of his compatriots ", he declared in a message launched on Sunday from Iriba, in the province of Wadi-Fira, where he is on the move, announced the Chadian presidency website on Monday 2 January.

In response "

to the positive, legitimate and well-founded criticism expressed by a good number of our fellow citizens

", the transitional president indicated that he had asked the government to issue another decree which "

corrects the shortcomings in favor of the under-represented provinces

 " on this famous list.

It's a first.

Until now, the authorities had always denied the fact that power "

was confiscated by a small group

 ", rejoiced a politician.

It is a good gesture, but not enough, says, for his part, the president of the opposition party AND, Salibou Garba.

For him, "

we cannot integrate into the police children barely ten years old or a family member who has neither the level nor the required training

 " or even "

 recruit at all costs

" .

The solution, according to him: “

You simply have to cancel the orders that have been taken and that do not meet the standards.

You have to recruit agents, fill vacancies, respecting the rules.

The texts exist, they must be rigorously applied

 ”.

Salibou Garba therefore calls on Mahamat Idriss Déby to put an end to what he calls “

mismanagement

 ” which undermines “

unity and national cohesion

”.
