A 20-year-old driver lost his life on Monday on the A61 motorway between Toulouse and Narbonne.

The terrible accident occurred at 1:42 p.m. near the town of Avignonet-Lauragais, an area where the infrastructure is under construction.

The firefighters, who deployed four machines and a helicopter, speak of a “very violent shock between three light vehicles”.

Another victim was taken care of in “relative emergency” and two other occupants of the vehicles are shocked but unscathed.

The tragedy led to the closure of the A61 in the Toulouse-Narbonne direction.

The exit is compulsory at the Villefranche-de-Lauragais interchange (n° 20).
