China News Agency, Macau, January 1 (Reporter Li Yanan) The Macau Government Tourist Office announced on January 1, 2023 that the number of inbound tourists in Macau continued to rise steadily.

According to the data, 28,100 inbound tourists were recorded on New Year's Eve on December 31, 2022, which is the highest number of inbound tourists recorded in a single day since the National Day on October 1.

  According to the data released by the Tourism Administration, Macau recorded more than 18,000 inbound tourists on December 30, 2022, which is a significant increase compared with the provisional data of about 12,000 daily tourists in December, reflecting the improvement of tourists’ confidence in visiting Macau. Holiday travelers will rise steadily.

  According to reports, the MGTO has deployed a number of plans to attract tourists to Macau.

The MGTO has taken the lead in organizing a virtual tourism and exchange meeting for the industry from Hong Kong and Macau a few days ago, updating Macau tourism information to the Hong Kong industry and promoting exchanges and docking between Hong Kong and Macao industries.

MGTO has planned to cooperate with the industry to launch tourism discounts, including train tickets or boat tickets, food, accommodation, travel and other discounts, to attract Hong Kong tourists to come to Macau to experience the unique Chinese and Portuguese culture and delicacies; it also plans to organize a Hong Kong tourism industry delegation to visit Macau , to promote business opportunities for industry cooperation.

  As Macao optimizes the anti-epidemic measures for entry and the restrictions on entry into Macao are further relaxed, MGTO plans to carry out all-round promotional work in the mainland and overseas in 2023, as well as successively roll out major events and activities to increase tourists' desire to visit Macao and drive the recovery of various industries in Macao.
