Israeli media reported on Sunday that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will visit the UAE within days, on his first visit abroad after his government officially assumes its duties.

The Israeli channel (14) said that Netanyahu will head to the Emirates at the head of a delegation that includes the new head of the National Security Council, Tzachi Hanegbi, and a number of ministers.

The channel added that the Israeli prime minister's talks with Emirati officials will focus on strengthening bilateral relations and the Iran file.

And on Saturday, a statement issued by Netanyahu's office said that the President of the Emirates, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, congratulated him on Saturday on assuming the presidency of the new government, and expressed his aspiration to strengthen relations during the coming period.

Telephone conversation

The statement added that Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed called, in a phone call, on Netanyahu and his wife to pay an official visit to the UAE, indicating that they agreed that the visit would take place soon.

In turn, the official UAE news agency stated that "Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, during a phone call, congratulated Benjamin Netanyahu on his assumption of the presidency of the new Israeli government."

And the agency said that Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed expressed during the call "his aspiration to strengthen Emirati-Israeli relations during the coming period, especially in the development fields and to advance the path of partnership and peace between the two countries forward for the benefit of their peoples and the region in general," according to what was reported by the Anadolu Agency.
