Yesterday, Saturday, the Canadian Muslim Forum published, through its official channels on social networking sites, a video of a person trying to attack the Islamic Center in Verdue, in the Canadian city of Montreal, the day before yesterday, during Friday prayers.

In the published video, a person appears speaking sharply to two people heading to the mosque, and after they entered the mosque, he quickly tried to catch up with them and enter the mosque, but they prevented him, and as it appears in the video, he continued his speech in a sharp tone.

The Forum issued a strong statement denouncing the incident, and denouncing the attack, which it described as having occurred in the presence of Montreal police.

The Forum said in its statement that the man directed insults against the Islamic religion and its noble Messenger, in addition to uttering threats against the mosque and the worshipers present in it.

We stand in solidarity against all forms of violence and Islamophobia, and while we wait for a completed police investigation, we are deeply concerned and shocked by the incident.

The statement warned of a sharp escalation of Islamophobia, which could endanger the security of Muslims, and called on the authorities to intervene to address this matter, and appealed to the people of the surrounding community to help eliminate this phenomenon.

For its part, the National Council of Canadian Muslims announced its solidarity with the Islamic Council in the city of Verdue, condemned the incident, and criticized Islamophobia and hatred.

The council said in a tweet on its account, "We are aware of the incident and are in contact with the Canadian Muslim Forum and the mosque's administration, and we stand in solidarity with them against all forms of violence and Islamophobia. While we await the completion of the police investigation, we feel deeply concerned and shocked by the incident."
