You probably didn't know it, but before the outbreak of the war in Ukraine, Renault was the owner (majority shareholder) of the Russian group Avtovaz.

Renault was also very well established in Russia, which was one of its largest markets worldwide.

But then, the situation has changed.

The diamond brand was forced to sell its factory in Moscow for a symbolic ruble, and to sell its stake in Avtovaz.

Lada Niva

Avtovaz, which now belongs to the Russian state, is therefore flying on its own, and has decided to invest half a billion euros to relaunch its production in 2023. The group thus intends to produce no less than 400,000 cars of the Lada brand.

Four models will be assembled: the Largus, the Granta, the Vesta and especially the 4x4 Niva, which has had a long career with us.
