As the senator noted, Hollande's words about the Minsk agreements after similar statements by Merkel and ex-president of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko speak of at least two things.

“First, for the West, the integrity of Ukraine ... is precisely control over the territories, and not public consent.

These are lands, not people.

This is violence, not negotiations... And second.

Our country turned out to be the only co-author of the Minsk agreements (although Moscow did not sign them), which consistently and honestly tried to act as their guarantor, ”said Kosachev.

Earlier, Hollande said that the Minsk agreements allowed the Ukrainian army to become stronger and “stopped the Russian offensive for a while.”

On December 7, Merkel called the Minsk agreements an attempt to give Ukraine time to “become stronger.”

Russian President Vladimir Putin said he was disappointed with such a statement by the ex-Chancellor of Germany.

He stressed that Russia did the right thing by launching a special operation, because no one was going to fulfill the Minsk agreements.
