The crime took place at Långgruvan outside Norberg on April 21, 2022. The man is sentenced to life imprisonment and deportation for raping and throwing a woman down a mine hole outside Norberg.

After raping the woman, the man pushed her down the 24 meter deep mine hole and he tried twice to stone her, before finally leaving her in the mine hole.

The woman was found by passers-by.

When the woman was found, she was badly injured and her body temperature was only 32 degrees.

In its verdict on October 22, the district court said that the woman would probably have died within 24 hours if she had not been found by passers-by.

- The acts have been planned and proposed.

The man has subjected the woman to severe and protracted suffering.

It was only pure coincidence outside the man's control that made the woman survive.

Against this background, the penalty value is as high as if the attempted murder had been successful.

Therefore, the Court of Appeal has determined the penalty to be life imprisonment, says Court of Appeal adviser Anna Avenberg.
