China News Agency, Beijing, December 30th Lima News: The recent frequent demonstrations in Peru have triggered conflicts. Peruvian President Boluarte asked the prosecutor's office on the 29th local time to investigate more than 20 deaths caused by the conflicts.

According to Reuters, the then Peruvian President Castillo was impeached and dismissed by Congress on the 7th of this month and was controlled by the police.

Since then, his supporters have held demonstrations across the country, during which there were many clashes with the police.

Peru entered a 30-day state of emergency on the 14th, but related conflicts still occur from time to time.

Reuters quoted Peruvian government statistics on the 29th as saying that about 22 people died in clashes triggered by demonstrations, and another 6 people died in traffic accidents related to street blockades.

Boluat said on the 29th that he will provide the prosecutor's office with all necessary resources to investigate related deaths, and "impunity cannot be allowed."

According to Al Jazeera, the Peruvian Supreme Court decided on the 29th to uphold Castillo's preventive detention decision.

On the 15th of this month, the Peruvian judiciary ordered Castillo to be placed in preventive detention for 18 months on the grounds of suspected rebellion, conspiracy, abuse of power, and serious disturbance of public order and tranquility, so as to ensure that he is in the investigation stage and possible not absent during the trial period.

Castillo has denied the insurrection charge.

He said on the 28th that preventive detention will only divide the country, and the relevant legal procedures are "nothing more than political revenge."
