He was told that he would not live for more than 12 months due to his biliary tract cancer, but he is now in good health, and his body is cancer-free, according to what was published by the British newspaper The Independent.

This is what happened with British citizen Robert Glen (51 years), who was unable to sleep due to severe pain due to bile duct cancer, which is a rare type of cancer that affects the liver, and British statistics indicate that about a thousand people are infected with it annually in Britain, and 5 can Only 5% live for about 5 years after diagnosis.

The Independent quoted Glenn as saying that his life changed after he accepted to participate in a medical experiment at Christie's Health Foundation, as the result of the analyzes conducted for him showed that the tumor carried large numbers of "genetic mutations in the cells", which indicates that he may have a good response to treatment.

She added that Glenn began using an immunotherapy drug that was approved for use in the treatment of other types of cancer, including lung, kidney and esophageal cancer, as the treatment was combined by drip, which helps the immune system to fight cancer, with chemotherapy.

The Independent confirmed that the name of the drug could not be disclosed because it is still in the trial phase for treating bile duct cancer.

With the start of treatment, Glenn was surprised that the tumor had shrunk significantly from 12 centimeters to 2.6 centimeters, while the adrenal gland tumor shrank from 7 centimeters to 4.1 centimeters.

And the doctors discovered that the remaining tumors are just tissue of dead cells, which means that the drug killed most of the active cancer cells, while Glenn will undergo surgery next April to remove the remaining malignant tumors in his body.

Glenn told The Independent that he would not have survived had he not accepted the experience of the new drug, expressing his great joy at his "return" to life again.
