The Ministry of Equality has requested an urgent meeting with the Ministry of the Interior in view of the "alert" due to the increase in sexist murders registered this month of December and is working on proposals related to the increase in resources and personnel and the extension of the Comprehensive Monitoring System in the Cases of Gender Violence (VioGén).

According to Efe sources from Equality, after the crisis committee meeting held this Wednesday to address the necessary measures to deal with the increase in sexist crimes (10 women have been murdered by their partners or ex-partners in December, according to confirmed cases ), the department headed by Irene Montero has asked the Ministry of the Interior for an urgent meeting.

After the meeting of the crisis committee, whose report must be debated and approved in a Sectoral Conference together with the Autonomous Communities, Igualdad is working on proposals related to the extension of the VioGén system, the increase in resources and personnel for comprehensive care, especially psychological , and the diversification of resources for the most vulnerable victims.

It also wants to increase the resources of the comprehensive forensic assessment units and of the specialized units of the State security forces and bodies, such as the Family and Women Care Unit (UFAM) and the Women and Minors Teams of the Guard Civil (EMUME), with the aim of improving and guaranteeing coordination between institutions, reports Efe.

From the PP, its spokesperson in Congress, Cuca Gamarra, has requested the urgent appearance in Congress of the Ministers of the Interior and Equality, Fernando Grande-Marlaska and Irene Montero, respectively, whom he has asked to "abandon frivolity "Because in gender violence policies what is needed is "unity", not blaming others, and doing serious work against a "scourge" that leaves "unaffordable" and "frankly harsh" figures.

"For this there do not have to be holidays," she has defended.

In statements to RNE collected by Europa Press, Gamarra has stated that the policies of sexist violence have "very little ideology but a lot of efficacy" and has urged the Government to reform, feed and provide the necessary resources to the State Pact against Gender violence.

The popular

has lamented the figures of gender violence that Spanish society cannot afford, which is "shocked" and in particular, she has referred to those of this month of December, "unassumable and frankly harsh".

Thus, she has expressed the PP's rejection of all these crimes and the solidarity of the popular to the families that are suffering this social scourge and she has reiterated the party's commitment to fight "together" against sexist violence.

"Not a single woman in our country has to die murdered by sexist violence. This is not acceptable," said Gamarra, who has demanded "all united" work against this violence against which there are no cracks, because the policies of sexist violence have "very little ideology but a lot of efficacy".

However, it has accused the Government of Pedro Sánchez of reflecting and stopping the discussion between the different ministries about who is responsible and to stop looking for guilty parties, since the Ministry of Equality has criticized the judges and pointed out the bodies and State security forces, instead of assuming their own responsibility in the first person.

"What is needed in the policies to combat gender violence is unity, unity, not seeking to point fingers at others is serious work and responsible work, abandoning frivolity and that the Ministry of Equality realizes that the policies of fight against sexist violence have very little ideology, but they need a lot of efficiency and they have to abandon the banner to really get to work for real," he said.

In his opinion, it is time for the Government to abandon "frivolity" in Equality policies and for the confrontations within the Government to end and the State Pact to be reactivated, which was "a success" and a "symbol" in the fight against sexist violence but that has to be fed day by day to remain active.

In this sense, he stressed that in his day, Unidas Podemos did not sign nor is it part of the State Pact promoted by the Government of Mariano Rajoy, for which reason he asks the purple formation to assume its responsibility because it is "fundamental" that said pact be a "living and dynamic" instrument for, from the continuous evaluation, the necessary reforms are adopted from the analysis of what is happening.

"When we analyze the data from this last month and what is failing like many of those women murdered in December who had filed a previous complaint and were part of the Viogén instrument. What happens is that something is wrong. That State pact must be feed him," he reiterated.

The general secretary of the PP has criticized that equality policies are not going in the right direction and has defended the need to reinforce the State Pact that "remains valid" and a "symbol" of how to fight against sexist violence but that there is to reinforce with new measures.

However, he considers that in this legislature the State Pact is not being fed because "possibly" the Ministry of Equality possibly does not believe in it but it is time for it to assume its responsibility and introduce the necessary reforms and resources.

Finally, he has reiterated that what is happening is that the reforms that the Ministry of Equality is facing "are not going in the right direction".
