FSB officers prevented a terrorist attack in the North Caucasus, the FSB Public Relations Center reports.

“The Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation in December this year on the territory of the North Caucasus Federal District prevented an attempt by a supporter of nationalist ideology, a citizen of Ukraine, who arrived in Russia through the labor migration channel, to commit a crime of a terrorist nature, which he planned on the instructions of the Ukrainian special services,” the report says.

During a search at the place of residence of the detainee, "ready-to-use means of terror" were found and seized.

A criminal case has been initiated and is being investigated on the grounds of a crime under Part 1 of Art.

30 (“Preparation for a crime”) and paragraph “a” part 2 of Art.

205 (“Terrorist attack”) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.

As a result of the interrogation, the criminal confessed to his illegal intentions.

“Working for the Ukrainian special services, I was against a special military operation.

I wanted to carry out a terrorist attack on the territory of the North Caucasus Federal District,” the man said.

Opposition to Ukrainian special services

On December 29, in the Kherson region, security forces detained a 54-year-old agent of the Ukrainian special services, who was transmitting data about the Russian Armed Forces.

According to the FSB, its tasks included collecting and sending information about the locations, the number of units of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, the routes of their movement and the types of equipment and weapons used in the NVO zone with reference to maps of the area and geographical coordinates.

The man admitted the fact of cooperation with the SBU.

On December 26, in the vicinity of Nalchik in Kabardino-Balkaria, two previously convicted Russian citizens were neutralized, who offered armed resistance during detention.

On the instructions of the Ukrainian special services, the attackers carried out the preparation of a terrorist act in Chegem.

After committing the crime, they planned to leave for Ukraine to participate in hostilities against the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.

A criminal case has been opened on illegal arms trafficking and encroachment on the life of law enforcement officers.

On December 25, an attempt to penetrate the territory of the Bryansk region from Ukraine was made by four saboteurs, all of them were destroyed.

Members of the sabotage and reconnaissance group were 34-year-old Yuriy Gorovets (call sign Svyatosha), 32-year-old Maksim Mikhailov (call sign Don’t Drink Beer), 38-year-old Taras Karpyuk (call sign Tarasiy) and 19-year-old Bogdan Lyagov (call sign Apollo).

They were armed with German SIG Sauer submachine guns, they carried communication and navigation devices, as well as four IEDs with a total capacity of about 40 kg of TNT for sabotage and terrorist acts.

As it became known to RT, the militants were associated with one of the Ukrainian nationalists Dmitry Korchinsky, the leader of the extremist organization "Brotherhood"*.

On December 23, in the Perm Territory, the Jewish Autonomous Region and the Rostov Region, FSB officers stopped the criminal activities of citizens of Russia and Ukraine to assist the SBU and the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Criminal cases were initiated under the articles “Treason in the form of espionage”, “Treason in the form of providing other assistance to representatives of a foreign state” and “Espionage”.

On December 19, Yevgeny Petrushin, a citizen of the Russian Federation, was sentenced to 12 years in a penal colony, who, on the instructions of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense, collected and transmitted information about the activities of the Black Sea Fleet in 2020-2021.

On December 13, a resident of Abakan was detained at the Krasnoyarsk airport while trying to travel through the territory of one of the CIS countries to Ukraine.

The purpose of the detainee was to join the Armed Forces of Ukraine to participate in hostilities against the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.
