On December 28, local time, Ukrainian President Zelensky delivered his annual State of the Nation address at the Verkhovna Rada (Parliament) of Ukraine, summarizing the internal and external situation in Ukraine.

  Reflecting on the changes over the past 10 months, and how Ukraine has changed the entire world, Zelensky said, "Thanks to our unity, Ukraine has achieved things that almost no one in the world believed. Ukraine has become one of the global leaders. Ukraine has helped The West has rediscovered itself, returned to the global stage, and no one in the West fears Russia anymore and never will."

  He further stated that now is the time to start negotiations on Ukraine's accession to the European Union.

  In addition, Ukraine will also become a "leader in efforts to maintain global food security."

Zelensky said that this year's situation has shown that without Ukrainian farmers and agricultural exports, food supplies and social security in dozens of countries in Africa, Asia and Europe cannot be guaranteed.

He thanked UN Secretary-General Guterres and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan for supporting the resumption of Ukrainian agricultural exports.

  Finally, Zelensky said that the three principles that Ukraine must adhere to are unity, security and justice, but achieving national security is a "difficult task" and it will not be achieved quickly.
