This was reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the Russian embassy in Bulgaria.

It is noted that on December 29, Mitrofanova was invited to the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry to discuss relevant issues and current topics on the bilateral agenda.

The embassy said that the Russian diplomat explained the situation with Grozev being put on the wanted list and noted that violation of Russian law leads to legal consequences regardless of the type of activity or citizenship of the defendant.

The Russian side also emphasized that "there is no question of intimidating a journalist or any threat to his life."

Earlier it was reported that the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs put on the wanted list the investigator of the publication Bellingcat * Hristo Grozev.

RIA Novosti, citing a source, reported that a criminal case had been initiated against Grozev about fakes about the Russian Armed Forces.
