The pictures are impressive.

A gigantic pile-up caused by fog in China and involving several hundred vehicles left one dead on Wednesday, state television reported.

Aerial images show a large number of cars, vans and trucks upside down on a section of highway in the center of the country.

Traffic seems cut off.

Pictures have immortalized cars having finished their race on the roof of the vehicles which preceded them.


At about 7:40 this morning, a multi-vehicle collision occurred on the Zhengxin Yellow River Bridge from north to south due to heavy fog.

At least 200 vehicles involved

This rare extensive pileup involved at least 200 vehicles, according to an estimate by official media.

According to local authorities quoted by the public broadcaster CCTV, poor visibility due to fog is the cause of this accident, which occurred Wednesday morning near Zhengzhou.

Traffic on the affected section of highway was able to resume in the afternoon, Zhengzhou police said on their official account.


Over 200 cars collided on a bridge in Zhengzhou, #China due to heavy fog.



According to local media, one person fatally injured many were blocked in cars.


The accident caused a huge traffic jam.
