Skansenakvariet's owner Jonas Wahlström believes that it is important that zoos remain, among other things because many parks run various projects that help in the conservation of animal species.
- People don't know what the zoos really stand for when it comes to breeding animals.
If the zoos had not existed, there would not have been bison in the wild today, not lion monkeys in Brazil, not Cuban crocodiles in Cuba, and many more examples, says Jonas Wahström.
But there is also a need to modernize and develop, admits Yvonne Nordlind, marketing and communications manager at Skansen.
