The spread of covid-19 continues to increase, with a high burden on healthcare in several parts of the country.
According to new figures from Region Blekinge, 32 people are currently being treated at Blekinge Hospital with confirmed infection with covid-19.
The last time that figure was basically as high was on February 17, when 31 people were cared for.
- There is a big difference in the situation then and now.
Most of the people who are hospitalized now are not hospitalized because of covid-19, and they are significantly less ill.
It's thanks to the vaccinations, says Bengt Wittesjö, infection control doctor at Region Blekinge.
None of the hospitalized patients require intensive care.
A total of 202 people have now died with confirmed corona infection, of which four in the past week.
