Olivier Delacroix SEASON 2022 - 202305h00, December 29, 2022

Olivier Delacroix goes to meet Joël, who is infected with the AIDS virus.

At the age of 27, while still living with his parents, Joël learned during a medical examination that he was HIV positive.

We are then in 1992. At the time, there was no cure for the immunodeficiency syndrome.

For Joel, everything collapses.

In the media, AIDS is called "gay cancer" and comes with a whole series of clichés about those infected.

When he shares the terrible news with his family, he comes up against the rejection of his relatives, who then discover his homosexuality... How to accept having been excluded by his family?

How to rebuild oneself far from them?

In this new episode of the podcast "In Olivier's eyes" adapted by Europe 1 Studio,

Joël entrusts his story to Olivier Delacroix.

He recounts his social exclusion and the consequences that the disease had on the different levels of his life.

Topics covered: HIV - AIDS - disease - family rejection - social exclusion - relationships - psychology - trauma
