The standoff over oil continues between the Kremlin and the West.

Russia will ban from February 1 the sale of its oil to foreign countries that use the cap on the price of Russian black gold.

The decree, signed Tuesday by Vladimir Putin, is intended for a period of five months.

The ceiling price had been set at the beginning of December at 60 dollars per barrel by the EU, the G7, and Australia;

and aims to deprive Moscow of significant revenue to finance its military intervention in Ukraine.

06:15: EU aid to Kyiv

On Twitter, the President of the European Commission wanted to highlight the humanitarian aid provided by the EU to Ukraine.

Since the beginning of the war, this represents more than 77 tons, ranging from medicines to food, including fire engines.


Since February, 🇪🇺 has shipped over 77,000 tons of in-kind assistance to 🇺🇦



This includes life-saving supplies such as medicine, food, shelter items.



As well as fire-fighting vehicles and mobile hospitals.
