A motion to arrest Democratic Party lawmaker Noh Woong-rae, who is accused of bribery and violating the Political Fund Act, was rejected at the plenary session of the National Assembly.

At the plenary session held today, the motion for the arrest of Congressman Roh was rejected with 101 votes in favor, 161 against, and 9 abstentions out of 271 votes.

The People's Power and the Democratic Party, a party belonging to Congressman Roh, announced that they would each vote for the motion for arrest, but the results of the vote show that a large number of Democratic Party members voted against it.

The Justice Party has announced that all six members will vote in favor.

Rep. Roh is accused of receiving a total of 60 million won from businessman Park Mo in the name of election expenses for the 21st National Assembly from February to December 2020.

Prosecutors believe that while Park delivered money to Rep. Roh, he made requests related to promptly proceeding with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's actual demand verification process for the logistics complex development project, support for solar power projects, and the personnel affairs of the head of the local tax office and Korea East-West Power Co., Ltd. executives.

On the 12th, the prosecution requested an advance arrest warrant for Congressman Roh.

Incumbent members of the National Assembly have the privilege of not being arrested or detained without the consent of the National Assembly during the session, so they went through the process of voting at the plenary session of the National Assembly that day.
