Until this year, the mother had sole custody of the two children, as the man had previously been sentenced to prison for having abducted the children, in another European country.

Earlier this year, the mother and father agreed on joint custody of the children in the district court.

The judgment then records a special agreement that the children may not be taken abroad and that the mother takes care of the children's passports.

Despite the special agreement, the father took the children in the car and drove south.

The vehicle was called for and stopped in Denmark.

Convicted and deported

The district court considers that the incident is a repeat situation, because it is about the same type of crime against the same child.

Therefore, the man is sentenced to five months in prison and deportation for gross attempt at arbitrary power with children.

Also traveling in the car was a male relative who was sentenced for the same crime but with a suspended sentence and 16,000 kroner in daily fines.

The man believes that they are on their way to a European city for a holiday trip over the weekend and that he had no intention of taking the children away.
