From this Tuesday, French people who heat themselves with wood will be able to claim the government's energy-wood check on a dedicated website.

This aid concerns 70% of households that use wood for heating, i.e. 2.6 million households.

Its amount varies between 50 and 200 euros according to certain criteria.

Enough boost?

Faced with the energy crisis, the government is launching new aid for households in need: the energy-wood voucher.

This is a form of support that concerns 70% of households that heat mainly with wood, i.e. 2.6 million households.

Its amount is between 50 and 200 euros depending on household income, but also the type of fuel it uses.

100 euros maximum if they are logs and 200 euros if they are wood pellets.

A special condition of use

Households can check their eligibility from this Tuesday until April 30, 2023 on the government website chequeboisfioul.asp-public.fr.

The first payments will be made from mid-February.

But beware, it is not a sum that you receive in your bank account.

The check can only be used at a wood seller or to pay an energy bill, be it electricity, fuel oil or even natural gas.
