70.59% of Madrid restaurants have had a campaign of Christmas dinners/company lunches that is much or much better than expected, according to a study by the Madrid Association of Restoration Companies (AMER).

The data provided by AMER of a 5.8% increase in billing compared to the 2019 campaign has been consolidated.

The average number of diners for Christmas lunch in Madrid restaurants was 11.41 people.

With respect to the type of groups that gather for Christmas lunch in Madrid restaurants, the most numerous are those of families made up of all their generations of grandparents, fathers and mothers, children and grandchildren with 50 %, followed by groups of friends with 23.2%, and, in third place, the family made up of parents and children with 19.6%.

The average cost of the Christmas menu per person in Madrid restaurants is 54.11.

With respect to the origin of the diners at the Christmas meal in Madrid restaurants, almost all of them are from the capital and from the Community of Madrid itself.

This celebration will mean an income of 4,630,463.25 euros for Madrid restaurants.

The top 3 of the most demanded dishes on the Christmas menu of Madrid restaurants are:

First course:

Acorn-fed Iberian ham, Mediterranean fish and shellfish soup or cod brandade with olive paste and raisins soaked in rancid wine.

Main course:

Suckling lamb roasted in a wood-fired oven with potatoes a la pobre, roast and boneless suckling pig, broken mashed potato and orange toffee or wild sea bass baked with vegetable timbale.

Dessert:

Lemon sorbet with mint, apple pie with vanilla ice cream, or nougat soufflé, rum ice cream with raisins and meringue milk.

Regarding New Year's Eve, one in four Madrid restaurants will offer party favors to their customers.
