When Luna was on her way home from leisure last summer, she was attacked by a 15-year-old boy.

She was raped, strangled and left badly injured in the forest.

After the crime, she suffered permanent brain damage.

The family now chooses to tell about the time after the crime through Luna's aunt Emma, who lives in Trosa, but is in Skellefteå to celebrate Christmas with the family.

Having panic attacks

She says that the last few days have been characterized by frustration and that Luna is often sad, cries, screams and has panic attacks.

- But can hope that it is because she is healing, and understands more that she cannot do what she did before and that a lot of rehabilitation is required.

SVT met Emma in Skellefteå - hear her talk about the time after the crime and how Luna is today in the video.

Emma has started a fundraiser to be able to give Luna a bearable life.

The boy appeared in investigations

The 15-year-old who assaulted Luna has been sentenced for attempted murder and aggravated rape of children to forensic psychiatric care.

SVT Nyheter has previously told that the boy appeared in several investigations at the school in 2019, where he hit other students on the butt and called a student a whore.

However, it was never reported to social services.

In 2021, the boy also appeared in a police investigation into attempted assault on a woman outdoors.

The case was handed over to social services, but the school was never made aware of the criminal investigation.

The Minister of Justice opens for a change in the law

The family wants to see a change in the law after the act of violence which, among other things, enables authorities to share information more easily, a "lex Luna".

It is something that Minister of Justice Gunnar Strömmer (M) is also open to.

- This case really shows the need that many of us have raised for several years - that the secrecy between authorities must be reviewed, writes Strömmer in an email to SVT.
