Monday, at noon, a white march is organized in Paris in memory of the three victims of the racist attack perpetrated against the Kurdish community on Friday.

The rally left at noon from 16 rue d'Enghien in Paris, the site of the shooting, and headed for 147 rue La Fayette, where three Kurdish activists were murdered ten years ago.

As a reminder, a 69-year-old man is suspected of having killed three Kurds in Paris on Friday.

This retiree said while in police custody that he killed these people because he was "racist".

His police custody was lifted Monday morning and he will be presented to an examining magistrate for a possible indictment, said the Paris prosecutor's office.

Overflows during a previous march

A judicial investigation has been opened for assassination and attempted assassination on the grounds of race, ethnicity, nation or religion, as well as for unauthorized acquisition and possession of weapons, added the prosecution, specifying that it had requested the provisional detention of the suspect.

On Saturday, a tribute to the victims, bringing together several thousand people in Paris, degenerated.

Eleven people were arrested, 31 members of the police were slightly injured as well as a demonstrator, said the prefect of police of Paris Laurent Nuñez on BFMTV.

At least four cars were overturned, including at least one set on fire, and garbage cans burned.

A few dozen demonstrators threw projectiles at the security forces who responded with tear gas.

"Long live the resistance of the Kurdish people", shouted several of them.
