According to the investigation, on June 17, a man, being in a state of alcoholic intoxication, fired an air rifle from the balcony of his friend's apartment into a crowd of people on the street.
The bullet hit an 8-year-old boy walking nearby in the head area.
Friends brought the victim to the house, where his mother called the doctors.
The child was taken to the hospital, where the bullet was removed from him.
“By the verdict of the Trusovsky District Court of the city of Astrakhan, the man was sentenced to 3 years and 6 months in prison to be served in a strict regime correctional colony,” the agency’s website said in a statement.
