It was an early Christmas present that was conveyed in P4 Örebro's live broadcast last Thursday by the chairman of the Culture Committee in Örebro, Lennart Bondesson (KD) to a surprised prize winner.

The committee awards two prizes, one of which goes to "a person who is at the beginning of his artistic career".

Alvina Herbinger Rygne is 22 years old and is currently studying in her final year of the folk music major at the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm.

She started playing the violin as a 5-year-old at Betelkyrkan's music school, and she discovered folk music at the age of 8.

She continued to develop playing at the Cultural School in Örebro.

This summer, she performed for the Zornmärkes jury and was then able to call herself national fiddler.
