Pope Francis calls on the world to remember the war-weary and the poor at Christmas Eve Mass.

In his homily at the Christmas Eve Mass held at St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican on the evening of the 24th local time, the Pope pointed out that "people who are full of greed and power want to consume even their neighbors."

"People obsessed with wealth and power consume even their neighbors, brothers and sisters. How many wars have we seen! How many places human dignity and freedom are treated with contempt!" lamented.

“True wealth comes not from money and power, but from relationships and people,” the Pope said.

He then exclaimed, "Dear brothers and sisters, let charity be reborn," and urged, "Let us do good this Christmas."

This year's Christmas Eve Mass was held without restrictions on the number of attendees for the first time since the outbreak of the corona crisis.

About 7,000 believers filled St. Peter's Basilica, and about 4,000 believers joined in the Christmas Eve Mass on the outdoor screen in St. Peter's Square.
