- In the business I work in, breast cancer and colon and rectal cancer, we have care that is at the forefront both in terms of waiting times, operations and systemic treatment, says Marcus Innala, oncologist at the hospital in Sunderbyn.

Best in the country

In Norrbotten, 219 men died per 100,000 inhabitants, which is the lowest mortality from cancer in the whole country in 2021. Even among women in the county, the mortality rate is low – 175 people per 100,000 inhabitants, which is the third lowest in the country.

Only Värmland and Halland have lower mortality.

Well-functioning care but also the size of the hospital in Sunderbyn is important, says Marcus Innala.
