Saturday morning, a deluge of fire fell on a shopping area in downtown Kherson, including a covered market and a supermarket.

Several projectiles, most likely from multiple Grad-type missiles, exploded on the ground and on the buildings of the central market, mowing down passers-by, who were very numerous at that time.

The first images are chilling: near stores, lifeless bodies, lying in pools of blood, and dozens of wounded, some very serious.

Kherson, regularly hit

“

On Christmas Eve, right downtown, it's not a war by the set rules.

It's terror, it's killing to intimidate and for fun

," the head of state, Volodymyr Zelensky, immediately denounced on social media.

Liberated on November 11 after nine months of occupation, Kherson has since been the regular target of indiscriminate Russian strikes.

Thus, on December 23, three civilians were in the center of the city, which was also hit by what appears to be a phosphorus bombardment.

In this context, the civil-military administration of Kherson called on residents near the banks of the Dnieper to evacuate the city.
