Yesterday, the United Arab Emirates announced that it had sent support for about 2,500 electric generators to civilians affected by the ongoing crisis in Ukraine, which led to power outages, to help them cope with the harsh winter conditions.

While eight people were killed and 20 others wounded in a Russian bombing in the city center of Kherson, the United States sarcastically called on Russian President Vladimir Putin to recognize reality and withdraw his army from Ukraine, after he recently described the conflict there as a "war".

In detail, the UAE announced yesterday that it would send support for about 2,500 electric generators to civilians affected as a result of the ongoing crisis in Ukraine, which led to the impact of energy infrastructure and the occurrence of power outages, in order to help them cope with the harsh winter conditions.

The aid includes 2,500 home electric generators, the power of each generator ranges from 3.5 kilowatts to 8 kilowatts, as these generators will contribute to providing energy for civilian homes, which will help mitigate the difficult living effects of families affected by the crisis.

Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashemi, Minister of State for International Cooperation, said that this aid to Ukraine stems from the UAE's belief in the importance of human solidarity, especially in conflict situations, and is part of the country's continuous efforts to mitigate the humanitarian repercussions of the Ukrainian crisis.

The UAE will transfer about 1,200 electric generators to the Polish capital, Warsaw, and will transfer the rest of the generators in January.

This support comes within the humanitarian relief aid allocated by the UAE to civilians affected by the crisis in Ukraine, at a value of $100 million.

It should be noted that the UAE has taken the initiative since the beginning of the crisis to alleviate the suffering of those affected by it, as it has already operated about eight planes carrying 360 tons of food and medical aid and ambulances for Ukrainian refugees in Poland, Moldova and Bulgaria, in response to the urgent appeal of the United Nations. and the Regional Response Plan for Refugees from Ukraine.

On the ground, eight people were killed and 20 others were wounded by Russian bombing in the city center of Kherson, according to the Kiev Presidential Administration.

And the deputy head of the presidential office, Kirillo Tymoshenko, published pictures of people who appeared to have been killed, in the city center, on his “Telegram” channel, yesterday.

The city was finally liberated from the Russian forces.

He added that «the Russians committed terrorism again, and bombed the city center.

People died, buildings were destroyed.”

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky condemned the attack, describing it as another crime committed by Russia, just before Christmas.

“Saturday morning, Christmas Eve, downtown.

Not military installations.

It is not a war according to what is known.

It is terrorism and killing to intimidate and enjoy killing.

Zelensky condemned the attack, saying, "The world must see and understand what is the absolute evil that we are fighting against," reiterating his description of the Russian army as "terrorist."

In London, British intelligence suggested that the lack of ammunition and missiles was behind the reduction of Russian offensive operations in Ukraine.

In a daily intelligence update from Britain's Ministry of Defense, the Kremlin likely limited its long-range missile strikes against Ukrainian infrastructure to about once a week, due to the limited cruise missiles available.

In Washington, the United States sarcastically called on the Russian president, on Friday, to recognize reality and withdraw his army from Ukraine, after he recently described the conflict there as a "war."

Russia officially called its war on Ukraine a "special military operation".

But at a press conference Thursday, Putin himself used the term "war" when he expressed his hope that the conflict would end as soon as possible.

"Since February 24, the United States and the rest of the world have realized that Putin's special military operation was an aggressive and unprovoked war against Ukraine," a State Department spokesman said. "Finally, after 300 days, Putin described the war as it is."

"As a next step in acknowledging reality, we urge him to end this war by withdrawing his forces from Ukraine," he added.
