On Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve, buses and trains mainly run according to the Saturday timetable.

In addition, the holiday timetable applies to many lines up to and including January 6th.

The local public transport company Traffiq pointed this out.

Because of the traditional Great Town Bell, the trams will also avoid the old town route from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Christmas Eve.

In the west, line 11 runs between Höchst-Zuckschwerdtstraße and Hauptbahnhof during the three hours.

Line 12 runs from Schwanheim to Willy-Brandt-Platz.

The two lines are merged in the east of the city: as line 11 coming from Fechenheim, the trains run to Börneplatz and then return as line 12 via Konstablerwache and Bornheim-Mitte to Hugo-Junkers-Straße in Fechenheim.

The gap that this creates in the tram network in the city center can be closed with the underground lines U 4 and U 5 and with the S-Bahn between the main station and Konstablerwache.

Comprehensive timetable changes for buses and trains

Some train and bus lines will only run until 6 p.m. on December 24, some not earlier.

The underground line U 9 and the bus lines 40, 65 and 71 stop operating around 3 p.m.

Bus routes 25, 35, 38 and 69 follow around 6 p.m. Bus routes 24 and 53 do not run throughout the day, while the express bus route X 53 runs as scheduled between Höchst and the airport.

According to Traffiq, there will be no additional trips between Nieder-Eschbach and the commercial area on bus route 29 between around 3 p.m. and 8.30 p.m.;

on the M 36 metro bus from around 8:15 p.m. to the short trips that otherwise take place between Eschenheimer Tor and Hainer Weg.

From 2 p.m. onwards, bus line 30 only runs between Bad Vilbel and Friedberger Warte.

On the two Christmas holidays, the Sunday timetable applies to local transport in the city.
