French police fired tear gas today, Saturday, to disperse a demonstration that took place in Paris to condemn the killing of 3 Kurds in the attack that took place in the center of the French capital on Friday.

Live pictures from Paris showed crowds of demonstrators in confrontations with the police amid columns of smoke and fires burning in garbage containers.

Today, the French Public Prosecutor announced the extension of the arrest of the 69-year-old man suspected of killing 3 Kurds with a gun and injuring 3 others in Paris on Friday, and indicated that the investigation relied on the search for a racist motive.

The man confirmed that he fired because he was a "racist", according to what a source close to the investigations told AFP.
