China News Service, December 23. According to "Russia Today" (RT) reports, Sergei Kislitsya, the permanent representative of Ukraine to the United Nations, posted a picture of the American flag on Twitter on the 21st local time, and tweeted Paint the Stars and Stripes in the blue and yellow colors of Ukraine.

The Russian foreign ministry mocked that it was Ukraine's "new flag".

Sergey Kislitsya posted this image on the occasion of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's visit to the United States.

The tweet also read, "As long as needed, they will stand together." This is considered to express US-Ukrainian unity.

Zelensky visited the United States in a whirlwind on the 21st local time, met with US President Biden, and delivered a speech in the US Congress, asking the United States to provide more support for Ukraine.

Zelensky also presented a Ukrainian flag signed by Ukrainian soldiers to the U.S. Congress.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova mockingly called Kislitsya's picture of the American flag "the new flag of Ukraine."

In her view, this reflects Kyiv's subordination in U.S.-Ukraine relations.

"What we've been talking about for years but no one believed has happened. Congratulations!" she added.

Russia believes that the Ukrainian government that came to power after 2014 and its successors have been so subservient to Washington's goals that they have acted against their own national interests.

Russia also believes that the United States has turned Ukraine into a proxy force against Russia.
