The special committee for state affairs investigation into the Itaewon disaster is conducting its second on-site investigation.

Members of the special committee first visited the government complex in Seoul to investigate whether the response of the Ministry of Public Administration and Security was appropriate at the time of the disaster.

In particular, they stopped by the situation room on the first floor to check whether the situation at the time of the disaster was properly transmitted to related organizations and whether they were properly aware of the situation at the scene of the disaster.

[Lee Hae-sik/Lee Tae-won, member of the Democratic Party of the Special Committee on State Affairs: Reports, instructions, and dissemination of disaster situations are supposed to be done through the disaster safety communication network.

Is there a connection between each local government and disaster safety-related organizations below the president?]

After that, I went up to the meeting room on the 8th floor and asked the Minister of Public Administration and Security, Sang-min Lee, whether the disaster safety communication network worked properly and how they responded in the event of a disaster. It is.

In the afternoon, members of the special committee will visit the Yongsan-gu Office to check whether the local government has properly performed its duties, including not only on-site response but also the preparation of the morgue.

The special committee will complete the site investigation today, and will receive reports from government agencies over two days next week, the 27th and 29th.
