The Netherlands promises 2.5 billion euros to Ukraine for the year 2023, Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte announced on Friday December 23 during a press conference.

Aid mainly intended for military support against Russia.

Two and a half billion euros, including nearly two billion for military support, according to statements by Prime Minister Mark Rutte The rest must be allocated to humanitarian aid, the fight against impunity, and the reconstruction of infrastructure energy and agricultural, hospitals or even housing, details the Dutch government in a press release.

But the exact use of the envelope will depend on the needs of the Ukrainians and therefore on the course of the conflict.

As long as Russia continues to wage war on Ukraine, the Netherlands will continue to support Ukraine militarily, humanitarianly and diplomatically

Since the beginning of the Russian invasion, the Netherlands has already granted nearly a billion euros in military aid to kyiv, according to a document signed by the Minister of Defense and made public last week.

Aid which should therefore be tripled with this new envelope.
