The

National Police

have arrested for the first time in Spain one of the "Ten Most Wanted Fugitives" of the US

FBI

, a fugitive sentenced to life imprisonment for crimes of child pornography, sexual exploitation, sexual assault and illicit gains of more than 17 million Dollars.

This is

MJP,

40 years old and New Zealand nationality.

He was arrested last Wednesday in a central

Madrid

hotel , where he was staying under one of the many false identities he used, reports the General Directorate of Police.

The fugitive was dedicated to the audiovisual production of pornography and recruited through deception minors and young women from different parts of the

United States and Canada

.

He did this by posting ads on the internet in which he offered alleged modeling jobs.

According to what was proven in the judicial process against him, he retained said women, forcing them to carry out sexual practices against their will.

He also paid others to convince victims that sexually oriented material would never be published.

Much of the pornography he produced between 2012 and 2019 ended up on open web pages, where he generated a profit of more than $17 million.

After being sentenced to life imprisonment, he escaped, for which the US authorities issued the corresponding international arrest warrant and even offered a reward of $100,000 in exchange for information on his whereabouts.

The FBI included him on its '

Ten Most Wanted Fugitives'

list .

After receiving information from the United States, the specialized agents of the National Police began an investigation that located the fugitive in

Barcelona

, but the search did not obtain concrete results.

After a year of exhaustive tracking in different areas of Spain, on December 21 the fugitive was arrested in a Madrid hotel.

To date, only 57 of those fugitives had been captured beyond the borders of the United States.
