Egyptian media revealed the course of the authorities' investigation with the actress, Menna Shalaby, after seizing prohibited materials in her possession at Cairo International Airport upon her return to the country in late November.

According to the “Cairo 24” website, Shalabi denied, during the investigations, her relationship with the narcotic substances that were seized in her possession during her return from the United States of America, noting that she had moved between several countries during the recent period, “so she traveled to Saudi Arabia to perform the Hajj (last July), Then the Emirates to attend a screening of a new movie for me, then Greece to celebrate my birthday.

The source also indicated that the Egyptian actress told the investigation authorities that she smokes “vape” only, and does not use any narcotic substances.

Confirming that she was carrying nothing but cosmetics and a smoking vape.

And an Egyptian court had set, last Wednesday, next January 5, the date for the start of the trial of Menna Shalaby before the North Cairo Criminal Court, in the case of accusing her of obtaining "narcotic hashish with the intent of using it in cases other than those authorized by law."

According to the statement of the Egyptian Public Prosecution, it was proven that the bags, bottles, pens, and pieces of candy that were seized with the Egyptian actress were stuffed with marijuana, which prompted the customs authorities to subject them to a complete and self-inspection, without the search yielding anything.

During Menna Shalaby's return from the United States of America at the end of last November, customs inspectors at Cairo International Airport seized about 30 packages of different shapes and sizes, containing narcotic marijuana, in her bags, and a report was issued on the incident and referred to the Public Prosecution.

The crisis of the 41-year-old actress came to postpone her theatrical show "Hour of Fortune" - directed by Ashraf Zaki - in which she was supposed to participate in the Riyadh season.

It is worth noting that the last work presented by Menna Shalaby was the series “With the Rising of the Spirit” in Ramadan 2022, and she won many awards for her role in the series.
