It's an early Christmas present but we'll take it anyway.

The number of positive cases for Covid-19 is falling after several weeks of continuous increase.

Thus in the week of December 12 to 18 (W50), there were 36,622 cases in Ile-de-France against 39,625 the previous week, according to data from Public Health France.

Similarly, the positivity rate in S50 (14.8%) dropped to the point of being lower than that of S48 (17.9%).

The crude incidence rate per 100,000 inhabitants follows the same trend even if it is less marked with a rate of 295 in S50 against 320 in S49.

Only the hospital indicators experienced a slight increase, which is explained by the traditional lag with the cases detected.

Thus there were 1,043 hospitalizations the week of December 12, an increase of 46 cases compared to the previous week.

Despite these good figures, Public Health France recalls that "the application of barrier gestures remains recommended in particular in the context of the co-circulation of winter viruses, low temperatures, end-of-year festivities [and] a incomplete vaccination coverage”.

So the party, yes, but take your precautions.
