According to the external investigation commissioned by Gällivare's municipal director, the change in building permit management coincides with the hiring of the former manager.

The mission was to speed up the processes, but the result was, according to the investigation, that many building permits were obtained in violation of current legislation.

"It's about smearing"

When the manager was recruited to Kiruna, the mission was the same – more building permits would be granted in a shorter time.

Gunnar Selberg says that it turned out exactly like that and he has no reason to regret the recruitment.

He does not contribute much to the investigation of the building permit processing in Gällivare.

- When I look at the investigation, it looks like it's more about slander and rumor-mongering than facts, he says.

In Gällivare, the information that has come to light about the building permit management has led to a police report.

Chose to stop

Criticism has been voiced in Kiruna, including by former building permit manager Kristoffer Johansson, who chose to quit when he considered that building permits had begun to be granted at the expense of legal certainty, which NSD told about.

Gunnar Selberg does not believe that the police report in Gällivare will lead to anything and he sees no reason to conduct a similar investigation in Kiruna.

The designated manager has chosen to leave Kiruna in the autumn.

He does not want to speak to SVT.
