The Democratic Party of Korea strongly protested today (22nd) that the prosecution, which is investigating the 'suspicion of illegal donations to Seongnam FC', sent a subpoena to CEO Lee Jae-myeong, saying that the government and prosecution's suppression of the opposition party was blatant.

The overall reaction within the party, including the leadership, to the notice of the prosecution's sudden summons was closer to anger than embarrassment.

Previously, in September, the prosecution notified Lee of a summons for violating the Public Official Election Act, but Lee did not respond.

The leadership immediately began preparing countermeasures.

Representative Park Hong-geun met with reporters at the National Assembly and said, "Representative Lee himself will think about what to do in response to the summons from the prosecution, but the party will also discuss countermeasures at the party level."

He said, "It is inevitable that this regime is only interested in eliminating political opponents to summon and notify the representative of the 1st opposition party, a person who was a presidential candidate. It is very regrettable."

CEO Lee, who visited Andong, North Gyeongsang Province, his hometown today, for a livelihood tour, poured out fierce criticism as if he were determined.

Coincidentally, today was also his birthday.

In a speech on the spot, he raised his voice, saying, "Killing Lee Jae-myeong does not hide the incompetence and unfairness of the ignorant Yoon Seok-yeol regime."

He then said, “After robbing Daejang-dong (suspicion) for several years, they say they will summon Seongnam FC, which has now been cleared of charges.”

Secretary-General Jo Jung-sik, who was present at the scene, also said, "Prosecutor Yoon Seok-yeol notified the summons that he would kill CEO Lee Jae-myung. What an outrageous regime."

While it is known that the prosecution specified Lee as a suspect in the summons, within the party, the observation that Lee will not respond to the summons is strengthened.

Representative Lee's official said, "The prosecution has been robbed of the suspicion of Seongnam FC for several years, and no charges have been proven."

However, there is also a prospect that concerns about the 'Lee Jae-myung Judicial Risk' of the screaming (non-Lee Jae-myung) system, centered on some pro-moon (pro-moon Jae-in) lawmakers, will accelerate further starting from this summons notice.

In a radio interview this morning, Rep. Cho Eung-cheon of the screaming world said, "I want Lee to fight confidently because there is no allegation."
