During the night of Tuesday to Wednesday, a fire broke out in a store in La Mézière, north of Rennes (Ille-et-Vilaine), destroying the entire Poêle et Cie brand.

It was the company's second store to be hit by fire in twenty-four hours.

According to the firefighters, 700 m² of commercial space were ravaged by fire.

Three lances and around thirty firefighters were present to deal with the flames.

Declared at 3:45 a.m., the fire was extinguished on Wednesday morning, firefighters said.

Two stores shut down

The cause of the fire is still undetermined.

An investigation was opened and entrusted to the gendarmerie of Montfort-sur-Meu.

During the night of Tuesday to Wednesday, the brand had already been the victim of a violent fire which had broken out in a store in the Bain-de-Bretagne area, the causes of which are unknown for the time being.

The Poêles et Cie brand had six stores located in the West.

This Wednesday morning, two of them are stopped.

According to the company, the files of the Bain-de-Bretagne agency could be saved.

“The computer equipment and therefore its content, would also seem to be recoverable”, specifies the brand.
