According to him, Belgrade can always rely on Russia in the situation around the settlement of the Kosovo crisis.

“We will continue to closely coordinate with Belgrade in protecting the legitimate rights of Serbia in relation to the province of Kosovo and Metohija,” Botan-Kharchenko wrote in an article for the International Affairs magazine.

Earlier, the director of the 4th European Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Yuri Pilipson, said that it was the European Union and the United States that had brought the current situation around Kosovo to the brink of an armed conflict.
